Our Internet was out for 4 days and finally came back on today. Last Wednesday night we had a very strong wind storm and our power went out. I've lived in LA all my life and I had never seen anything like it. I'm very thankful, because we were the lucky ones, a lot of people in the city have been without power since last Wednesday. I think most people are getting power up again, but some people are still without. There is a lot of fallen trees and debris everywhere. This wind caused a lot damage, but thankfully no one was killed or hurt.
So while our Internet was down, I was able to finish these sweet deer ornaments. I've never made ornaments before, but I like all those vintage deer figurines that you see around. It was the easiest craft I've made so far. We all think they look so cute on our fake tree. Yes, we have a fake tree. This is our fourth year using it. It's been nice not having to buy a tree and it's nice not having the mess that a fresh tree leaves behind. I do love the smell of pine tree and it's not Christmas without that smell, so I buy some small pine wreaths and put them around the house to get that smell. We plan to use this tree a couple of more years and then when the girls are old enough we will buy a fresh tree. We want the girls to have memories of us going to go buy our Christmas tree as a family, but right now they're still little enough that we can get away with using the fake tree.

Don't tell...but I have an artificial tree also!!
We use it on and off depending on how we feel that year. This year we decided to use it to save some money.
